7/14/2006 Friday's REAL entry - Wacko Wacos, crazy coincidences, and stuff. The second I looked at the FAA website for the guy who owns that Waco I mentioned before, I almost passed out. I swear, my heart hath never raced that fast since I was up making my speeches infront of the school all last year(s). Once the stars removed themselves from my eyeballs, I realized what it was all along. Chances are that if you aren't an aviator you won't care less about this. But if you're a pilot who absolutely adores old, antique airplanes then hear me out. First off, the manufactured year is 1930, not 1939 like I originally thought. Second, it's a model RNF. 150 were built between '30 and '31, and over 40 are still registered today. Speaking of which, the A/W (airworthiness) certificate is valid, meaning that it's in one piece and able to fly. Now are you beginning to see why I was seeing stars? Heh heh. So as I was drawing my successfully failed model of the paint sceme I had in mind last night, I said to myself (rather out loud... I talk to myself a lot...) "Self, the two main colors here are red and silver. Why red and silver?" Fortunately I didn't get a response... heh heh. But I digress. So when I noticed that it was from '30 and a completely different model, I realized that chances are it doesn't have the same paint scheme as the one in the past entry because WWII wasn't even thought of. Then what did they look like? I googled up "1930 Waco RNF" and got pretty much the shock of my living life. Every electrolite in my body pulsed with that "This is totally unreal" sensation. Peek below and you'll see why. ![]() As you can see, red fuselage with one black stripe down the middle and silver wings and tail. The second I realized this, I took Mum aside and explained that there was some unexplanable force dragging me towards this aeroplane. Clearly the thought of having red and silver at the two base colors isn't coincidence, wouldn't you agree? Heh heh. But other than becoming mildly obsessive over this whole situation, today was kind of relaxing. Not. I got my hair cut at 9... looks alright, but hasn't set in yet. Plus the front is too fluffy... but I can fix that. Then we had to go up to the house around 1 and meet the owner people... they were pretty nice, actually. After we talked for about an hour we went down to Chatham and they followed because some stuff had to be dropped off to the lawyer. Woot. And then we came home. Heh heh. I did my nails a little while ago while writing to Jon the idea of going on a Dutch Apple cruise, seeing as we know we're both good with boats. We'll see. Hee hee. Alright... I think I might go find something else to do for now. I'm heading to Freehold early tomorrow... maybe I can get a flight in. It seems to me like there would be an instructor there for the simple fact of the general membership meeting is tomorrow night, but I can't go because I'm going on that cruise. Bummer. Heh heh. Later. TrackbacksThe trackback URL for this entry is: http://elationaviation.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!FD1CF9BB907EDDE0!219.trak Weblogs that reference this entry
