2006/8/16 New windows and some other stuff.Gad it feels good to have my computer back! Heh heh, let me explain. Thanks to Mum's... voicing concerns (we'll tone it down to that But now its back, and pretty much all of the contents of my desk are stuffed away in boxes (that are sitting on my desk, mind you). And they're staying there because I don't need the crap on my desk right now and we'll be moving in due time anyway. Plus it makes my room look just a bit nicer. But for the lack of anything better to do, I decided to open up my computer just to see how the innards have been doing. I haven't opened it since I installed my graphics card (about 7 or 8 months ago), and holy crap was I surprised. It was infested with nothing but cobwebs! Whoa! So, needless to say I cleaned it out completely, but I feel rather accomplished because I realized that the cooling fan on the graphics card was flush against the modem chip, so I moved the modem chip down a row. And now the compy can breathe easier. Heh heh. Especially with the new window and the awesome breeze. Speaking of which, I just took a pair of scissors a few minutes ago and snipped the vines outside the window. Even with the banging and the smashing, the window people managed to not tear them down, and I figured that they might as well look nice. I'll trim up the rest tomorrow when I can actually see them.... maybe I'll even put a picture on here. Hmm... what else? Ah! I picked up "North Star Over My Shoulder" off of my local bookshelf a few days ago. And it is probably one of the best books I've read (even though I'm not finished... page 210 out of... 3-something). Here are a couple of humorous excerpts from the recent chapter. The airplanes were unstable on the ground, and the tail had a tendency to want to beat the nose to the end of the runway. When the design of future aircraft moved the tailwheel up front and made it a nose wheel, landing and keeping a true path on the ground became easy because the geometry of the landing gear changed in relation to the airplane's center of gravity; now it was natural, by the laws of motion, for it to go straight. With a tailwheel location, however, all those laws told the airplane it should be going ass-end first, so it tried to swap ends and make itself a nose wheel airplane. Rather cute... kind of. Oh well, it is a good book and anyone who has the slightest bit of interest in flying and has a decent sense of humor should read it. Because I said so. Hah. Anyway, I think I might do a bit of reading for a little while. Why not? Later. 引用通告此日志的引用通告 URL 是: http://elationaviation.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!FD1CF9BB907EDDE0!238.trak 引用此项的网络日志
